Sunnyvale has launched a city-operated ride-hailing service called Sunnyvale Beam, run by Via Transportation, offering rides for $3.50 across the city with the first three rides free, including trips to Homestead High School and Kaiser Medical Center in Santa Clara, funded in part by a state grant.
