An overnight Israeli Defense Forces strike in Lebanon's Beqaa region eliminated Wael Mahmoud Abd al-Halim, the PIJ commander there who coordinated ties with Hezbollah and led operations against Israel; the operation occurred roughly 100 kilometers from Israeli territory.
The IDF conducted airstrikes in the Beqaa Valley in eastern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah terror infrastructures and a military complex after an IDF drone was shot down by a surface-to-air missile. Lebanese sources reported additional strikes near Janta in the Beqaa Valley, and there were indications that Syrian air defenses were activated during the attacks. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for downing the drone, and this is the same region where the IDF previously struck sites after another drone was downed in February.
