Solar Eclipse Path: Impact on Arkansans and Time to See by State
A new map by eclipse calculator John Irwin from Besselian Elements indicates that the path of totality for the solar eclipse has shrunk in some areas due to uncertainties about the size of the Sun, affecting towns in Arkansas such as Harrison, Compton, Ponca, Pettigrew, Boston, Cass, White Rock, and South Fort Smith. While the path is narrower by 2,000 feet, it won't significantly impact most Arkansans, but some towns are no longer within the path. NASA's predictions remain unchanged, and the sun's radius will be the subject of a research project during the eclipse.
