Bike Advocates Rally for Safer Chicago Streets After Riley O’Neil’s Death
Hundreds of cyclists gathered in Bridgeport to honor Riley O’Neil, a Chicago transportation planner killed while biking on South Halsted Street. The vigil included a memorial ride and a die-in protest demanding safer streets and stronger cyclist protections across the South Side, including protected bike lanes and ‘Riley Racks’ bike racks, as advocates press city leaders to rethink street design and curb traffic fatalities.
