Indigenous actress Q'orianka Kilcher has filed a lawsuit accusing James Cameron of using her facial features—after seeing her in an LA Times ad for The New World—to design the Avatar character Neytiri without credit or compensation; she alleges Cameron directed his design team to exploit her biometric identity and seeks damages, disgorgement of profits, injunctive relief, and corrective public disclosure.
