Hezbollah's Safieddine: No Desire for Escalation with Israel
Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, the head of Hezbollah's executive council, suggested that his group does not want to escalate the ongoing border confrontations with Israel, stating that wars have historically been initiated by the Israeli enemy. He emphasized that the responsibility for expanding the conflict lies with the United States and Israel, and any sign of weakness would only encourage Israel to wage a broader war. The intensifying exchanges of fire between the Israeli army and Hezbollah along the Lebanon-Israel border have raised concerns about a potential larger conflict, resulting in over 120 deaths on the Lebanese side since October.
