Panthers suffer second major injury as Marchand exits Kings game
Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand suffered a lower-body injury during a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday, leaving the team without its captain and star forward. Marchand exited late in the second period after being high-sticked by Kings defenseman Brandt Clarke and crashing into the post. The Panthers, already missing captain Aleksander Barkov for six to eight weeks due to a similar injury, remain atop the Atlantic Division with a 2-0-2 record. Coach Paul Maurice expects an update on Marchand’s status by Thursday, while the Kings noted their power play struggles contributed to the loss.
