Kelly urges Michigan to tailor offense around Bryce Underwood's mobility
Brian Kelly says Michigan should retool its offense to fit Bryce Underwood’s strengths as a mobile, run-savvy quarterback, arguing he isn’t a traditional drop-back passer. Kelly favors more designed runs and a system that keeps Underwood moving, a view echoed by Michigan OC Jason Beck, who intends to build the offense around him. Michigan faces Oklahoma in Week 2 as a test of this approach, and Underwood’s 9 rushes for 47 yards and a TD against Western Michigan hint at a potential shift toward a more run-oriented attack. If the offense doesn’t adapt, Kelly warns the quarterback role could be reevaluated.
