"US Space Force Explores Commercial LEO Options and Targets Adversary Satellites for Defense"
The U.S. Space Force's Space Development Agency (SDA) has selected SpaceX, Kuiper Government Solutions, and Aalyria Technologies to conduct market-research studies on how commercial systems can enhance the military's low Earth orbit (LEO) constellation. The SDA aims to understand the industry's capabilities for providing LEO backhaul services to augment the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. The studies will explore connecting commercial or existing LEO systems to improve resilience and quickly transfer broadband data between edge and main networks worldwide. The findings will inform potential acquisitions of these services.
