Baywatch Expands Venice Beach Footprint Ahead of Summer Shoot
Baywatch’s Venice Beach production is expanding its footprint as LA officials push to modify the show’s film permit after realizing the space required is larger than originally approved. The California Coastal Commission had approved 27 beach parking spaces and 177 city-lot spaces, but producers now seek roughly double the beach parking and overnight parking options, with nighttime filming expected to be approved. The shoot runs through July 16 and also takes place at other LA-area beaches; officials will maintain public access and wildlife protections, and a 20% discount on city parking was arranged to help facilitate filming.
