Niewiadoma-Phinney Eyes Yellow After Stage Five Thriller
Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney came up just short in Stage Five of the Tour de France Femmes, sprinting from 400 meters out to challenge Marlen Reusser and Demi Vollering but finishing 25 meters behind Vollering. The result moved her to third overall, 1:17 behind the race leader, as Canyon-SRAM rode a strong tactical day with Antonia Niedermaier in the break and a late Mont Brouilly attack. Niewiadoma-Phinney says she dreams of wearing the yellow jersey again and felt no regrets about the effort, with Mont Ventoux and the battle for yellow still to come.
