Qatar PM: "Minor Challenges" to Israel-Hamas Captive Deal
Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has stated that only "minor" challenges remain in the negotiations to release the more than 200 people taken captive into Gaza after Hamas's attack on Israel last month. Qatar has been acting as an intermediary in the negotiations, seeking a deal between Israel and Hamas to exchange captives for a ceasefire. The talks are ongoing, while Israel prepares to expand its ground offensive against Hamas in Gaza. The US has urged caution and called for a humanitarian ceasefire, but Israel has so far refused.
