
Bundibugyo Ebola Outbreak Sparks Global Health Alert
The WHO has declared the Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak in the DRC and Uganda a public health emergency of international concern, with more than 500 suspected cases and about 130 deaths (only 30 confirmed), no vaccine or specific treatment for this strain, while the US and CDC coordinate patient transfers, travel advisories, and containment efforts as cases spread and a patient-zero remains unidentified.
