Mexican fisherman survives 15 days in pitch-black cenote after losing exit
Erasto Crisanto Valdez, a 31-year-old fisherman, was rescued alive after spending 15 days trapped in a pitch-black underwater cave in Mexico. He survived by drinking rainwater and finding an air chamber, having lost the exit while fishing with his father. A 15-day search involving land, river, and air efforts led to his recovery, and he is now in a hospital.
