
Kaalund's 19.95 200m breaks NCAA indoor record as DI championships unfold
USC sprinter Garrett Kaalund clocked 19.95 in the 200m to become the first NCAA indoor sub-20, a new collegiate record, as Day 2 of the 2026 DI Indoor Track & Field Championships produced more finals and shifting team races: Adaejah Hodge’s 22.22 boosted Georgia and helped Illinois to a 42-point tie on the women’s side, Kanyinsola Ajayi tied the 60m collegiate record with 6.45 for Auburn, and Arkansas (men) and Illinois (women) led their respective team standings as the meet continues with several events and the heptathlon final.
