Zelenskyy receives support from Germany amidst Ukraine's counteroffensive preparations.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has pledged "unwavering" support to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his visit to Berlin, promising €17bn ($18.5bn) in military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The two leaders agreed on the need to bring to justice those responsible for war crimes and other atrocities and to increase pressure on Russia and those supporting its war efforts through further sanctions. Zelenskyy later accepted the Charlemagne Prize in Aachen, awarded to him and the Ukrainian people for their efforts towards European unification.
