Unearthing the Ancient Secrets of Peru's 'Condor's Passageway'

Archaeologists in Peru have discovered a 3,000-year-old sealed corridor known as the "condor's passageway" within the Chavin de Huantar archaeological site. The corridor likely leads to other chambers within the ancient temple complex of the Chavin culture. The site, located northeast of Lima, is renowned for its advanced art and dates back to the first sedentary farming communities in the Peruvian Andes. The recent discoveries include a large ceramic piece depicting a condor's head and wings, symbolizing power and prosperity in ancient Andean cultures. The temple complex, with its terraces and passageways, is still being excavated.
