Crews responded to a water rescue at Cherry Creek State Park southeast of Denver after a person was reported missing in the reservoir. A child was reported missing and search teams used sonar and dive crews, and the child's body was later recovered from the water.
The natural swim area at Cherry Creek State Park in Aurora, Colorado has been temporarily closed due to elevated levels of E. coli. Routine water quality testing revealed higher than allowable levels of the bacteria, and the swim area will remain closed until water sample testing shows a decrease in E. coli. Other water-related activities are still allowed, and the closure is attributed to factors such as wildlife waste, urban run-off, and heavy rainfall in the area.
