A fiery crash involving three semi-trucks, two passenger vehicles and a truck fire shut down I-285 in Clayton County near Riverdale Road early Saturday. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and three people were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment; the cause is under investigation.

Hannah Payne, a woman from Clayton County, Georgia, has been found guilty of murder for chasing down and shooting Kenneth Herring, a hit-and-run driver. Two women were found alive after their private plane crashed into a tree in Clayton County, Georgia. A contractor with the Clayton County Sheriff's Office, Sarai Tatiana Ali, has been arrested and charged with obstruction and being a party to a crime for aiding and abetting suspects, sharing confidential information, and encouraging her crew to steal from inmates. Former Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for violating the civil rights of detainees at the jail by strapping them into restraint chairs as punishment.
