Instagram Expands Originality Rules to Photos and Carousels, Downranking Reposts
Instagram is expanding its unoriginal-content policy from video to photos and carousels, meaning accounts that repost or lightly edit third-party material without adding original value could be downranked in recommendations. To regain reach, creators must post wholly original or uniquely edited content, within a 30-day rolling window. The change aims to reward original creators but could upend meme/clipping ecosystems built on reposts.
