NASA's Alarming Visualizations of Earth's Changing Climate.
NASA has released a visualization showing the significant rise in Earth's sea level since the early 1990s, with the global average sea level rising 9.85 centimeters (3.8 inches) between 1993 and February 2023. The increase is attributed to human-driven climate change, causing the oceans to expand as they absorb heat, melting of ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica, and melting mountain glaciers. Rising sea levels will have a devastating impact on coastal regions and low-lying areas, allowing storm surges and floods to reach farther inland.
