Linux 7.3 Adds DRM Color-Format Support, Starting With AMDGPU
Linux 7.3 will add a DRM color-format property to the DRM uAPI, initially supported by the AMDGPU driver, allowing user-space to request specific display color formats (AUTO, RGB, YUV 4:4:4/4:2:2/4:2:0); the feature is in drm-misc-next ahead of the 7.3 merge window, with patches also floated for Intel and Rockchip DRMs and related Wayland support.
