Scientists Investigate the Mysterious Nature of Interstellar Comet 3I/ATLAS
Astronomers using the James Webb Space Telescope have studied interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS, revealing it to be unusually rich in carbon dioxide and possibly formed in a different environment than typical comets, suggesting an origin from an older, low-metallicity star system in the Milky Way's thick disk.
