
Daly Leads Veteran-Heavy Indy Open Test Day 1
Conor Daly topped Day 1 of the Indy 500 Open Test at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with a 225.394 mph lap in the No. 23 Chevrolet, edging a top five that also includes 12-time starter Castroneves, Takuma Sato, Scott Dixon and Alexander Rossi. Most fast laps came with aero tow during “Happy Hour,” while Jack Harvey posted the fastest non-tow lap. Four rookies and four veterans completed orientation/refresher tests. Thirty-two of 33 cars logged 2,262 laps (about 5,655 miles). Legge did not run; the two-day test continues Wednesday with free admission for spectators.
