HBO Max Greenlights 'Crazy Rich Asians' Series with Original Cast
HBO Max has officially greenlit an eight-episode television series adaptation of 'Crazy Rich Asians,' set to begin production in 2027. The series will reunite the original film's core cast, including Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Ronny Chieng, and Michelle Yeoh, to continue the story after the 2018 movie's conclusion. Adele Lim, co-writer of the original film, will serve as showrunner and executive producer alongside director Jon M. Chu. The project replaces a long-rumored feature sequel, leveraging the source material from Kevin Kwan's book trilogy to expand the narrative across multiple episodes.
