Gemma Chan Hopes to Return for 'Crazy Rich Asians' Series Despite Omission from Initial Cast
Gemma Chan has expressed hope of returning to the 'Crazy Rich Asians' franchise despite her absence from the recently announced cast list for the upcoming HBO Max series. The 43-year-old actress, who played Astrid in the 2018 film, addressed the omission at the 2026 BFI London Film Festival, stating she loves the project and hopes to be involved. Meanwhile, the eight-episode series is confirmed to feature Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Ronny Chieng, and Michelle Yeoh, with production set to begin in 2027.
