Dallas GOP Convention Aims to Highlight Record While Keeping Trump Center Stage

Ahead of a two-night Dallas GOP convention, Republicans hope Donald Trump anchors the event but want the messaging to contrast Democrats’ leftward stance with the party’s record, including the tax cuts and other achievements. Chicago Exits 2028 DNC Bid as Finalists Narrow

Chicago will not host the 2028 Democratic National Convention after the DNC narrowed finalists to Boston, Denver and Philadelphia, eliminating Chicago (and Atlanta) from consideration; the convention is scheduled for August 7–10, 2028, and the DNC has not explained why Chicago was cut. Chicago had bid to host again after the 2024 DNC, which drew visitors and significant economic activity, but the party will choose the 2028 host city later this year. Houston will host the 2028 Republican National Convention.
