NYC Marathon alters Bronx route for first time in 15 years to aid local access
The New York City Marathon will modify its course in the Bronx for the first time since 2011. The change, announced by New York Road Runners, aims to reduce disruption for residents and local businesses. Runners will now take a more direct path, cutting the number of turns in the borough from seven to five. The race is scheduled for November 1, 2026, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the five-borough course.
