Marathon Season 2 Brings Nighttime Maps, New Shell, and a Reworked Progression
Marathon Season 2 launches June 2 with a nighttime Dire Marsh map, a new Sentinel Runner shell, and The Cradle, a rewritten progression system. The update adds new weapons, updated contracts and faction progression, and sandbox balance tweaks, plus a PvP-lite Sponsored Survival mode and a path toward a PvE-only option. All inventories and ranks reset at season start (codex entries, factions, and cosmetics stay unlocked), with progress carrying over when you buy the game; there’s a one-week free access window from June 2–9. QoL improvements include more Vault space, a loot filter, batch Vault operations, a streamlined lobby UI, and fewer disconnections across platforms.
