UK Study Detects Mycotoxins in 100% of Plant-Based Meat and Drink Products
A study led by the University of Parma and co-authored by Cranfield University found that all 212 plant-based meat and beverage products tested in the UK contained at least one mycotoxin. While levels remained below EU safety limits, researchers warn that cumulative exposure from a fully plant-based diet could pose long-term health risks, highlighting a gap in current regulatory monitoring for these emerging foods.
