Family of 32-year-old breast cancer patient urges NHS to approve Enhertu
The family of Fionnuala Quinlan-Bennett, a 32-year-old woman from Crawley who died of breast cancer in June, is campaigning for the drug Enhertu to be made available on the NHS in England. Although the treatment is accessible in Scotland and other nations, it was denied to Quinlan-Bennett due to cost-effectiveness concerns. Discussions between the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), the drug manufacturer, and NHS England have resumed following a new cost threshold established by a US-UK trade deal.
