Hollywood A-Listers Rally Against Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery Merger
Over 1,000 writers, actors and directors signed a letter opposing Paramount’s $111 billion plan to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, warning the merger would reduce opportunities for creators, raise costs and limit audience choice; the signatories, including Bryan Cranston and Joaquin Phoenix, say consolidation would harm an already distressed Hollywood, even as backers argue it could boost production. The deal awaits shareholder and regulatory approvals and is expected to close later this year.
