NASA Conducts Year-Long Mars Simulation with Volunteers in 3D-Printed Habitat

NASA has selected four researchers to live inside a 3D-printed simulated Mars habitat at the Johnson Space Center for the next 378 days as part of the Crew Health and Performance Analog (CHAPEA) mission. The crew will face challenges such as resource limitations, equipment failures, and communication delays, providing valuable data for future human missions to Mars. This is the first of three planned missions, with the goal of gaining knowledge to enable safe human travel to and from Mars.
