Man pleads guilty to 60 counts of drugging and raping wife over two decades
A man in his sixties from the Stockport area of Greater Manchester has admitted to 60 sexual offences against his wife, including rape and assault by penetration, committed over a period spanning from 2004 to the present. The admissions were made at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, where the defendant became visibly emotional while pleading guilty to multiple charges. The victim, who was married to the defendant for decades, attended the proceedings from the public gallery with family support. While the husband’s sentencing will occur after the trial concludes, twelve other men are currently facing separate charges for sexual offences against the same woman, with offences ranging from 2018 to 2025. A thirteenth man has already admitted to similar offences. The trial is expected to continue in the coming weeks, with the other defendants denying the charges against them.
