Pogačar seals 2026 Tour de France with five wins and record-book climbs
Tadej Pogačar dominated the 2026 Tour de France, winning by more than six minutes and securing five stage wins. He became the youngest rider to win five Tours (27y10m5d) and joined Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault and Miguel Induráin as five-time champions, while extending his podium streak to seven consecutive Tours. He set new records on Alpe d’Huez (35:27) and the Tourmalet (43:12), and the race itself was the fastest ever (73h56m26s at 43.326 kph), with a stage averaging 50.9 kph. Pogačar now has 71 days in yellow, behind Merckx’s 111 and Hinault’s 79, and remains nine behind Cavendish’s all-time 35 stage wins.
