Olivia Rodrigo Debuts Serena Joy, Echoing The Handmaid’s Tale, Ahead of Charity Festival
Olivia Rodrigo released a new single, 'Serena Joy,' named after a Handmaid’s Tale character; it debuted as a limited-edition CD in California and is now streaming. The track, with a Peter Hook–style bass, broadens her lyrical focus from a breakup to social complicity. Its release leads into the Daisy Chain Fields festival in Irvine (Aug 29), with net proceeds going to Planned Parenthood and the Center for Reproductive Rights. Rodrigo will also tour globally on the Unraveled Tour, with openers including Grace Ives, Wolf Alice, Devon Again, the Last Dinner Party, and Die Spitz.
