Robbie Fairchild’s New Dance Work Reimagines Shakespeare’s Sonnets as a Queer Love Story
Actor-dancer Robbie Fairchild is premiering 'Lord Chamberlain’s Men,' a dance-theater piece at New York’s Fall for Dance festival. The work explores the theory that Shakespeare’s 'lovely boy' was a fellow actor, suggesting the playwright channeled his unrequited same-sex love into 'Romeo and Juliet.' This marks Fairchild’s first choreography and direction project.
