Iowa Missing Teen Jade Colvin: Years of Pursuit End in Murder Conviction
Des Moines investigators and federal partners spent years chasing leads in Jade Colvin’s 2016 disappearance, tracing her last days to a Decorah, Iowa farm and a relationship between her mother and James Bachmurski Sr. Through social-media clues, deleted messages, and a key cellphone find, Bachmurski was charged with murder in 2024 and later convicted in 2025, receiving a 50-year sentence. Jade’s remains have never been recovered, but the case brought justice for her family and renewed resolve for the investigators who pursued every lead.
