O’Donnell’s feminist facelift after weight loss and an Irish move
Rosie O’Donnell underwent a deep-plane facelift in January after losing about 50 pounds, a change she says was partly prompted by how locals in Ireland commented on her altered appearance. In interviews, including one with People and posts on her Substack, she describes wrestling with whether cosmetic work fits with her feminist beliefs, ultimately deciding that choosing what to do with her body can be an act of empowerment. Her 13-year-old son Clay challenged her legacy, and she says the decision was made in a feminist context; she notes that, for now, the change hasn’t been noticed by him, and the Irish audience has welcomed a happier-looking O’Donnell.
