Trump's Midterm Pledge Clashes with Pentagon Readiness and Iranian War Warnings
US President Donald Trump pledged on October 8 that the US would not attack Iran before the November 3 midterm elections, citing 'productive discussions' with Tehran. However, the Pentagon has ordered forces to prepare for potential strikes within three weeks, and Iran has warned it is ready for a prolonged conflict. This diplomatic pause coincides with a new Saudi-Pakistan-Turkey defense pact and rising violence in Iran's southeast, creating a volatile environment where military readiness and political timing are in direct conflict.
