Pope Calls for Human-Centric AI Governance to Protect Life and Peace
Pope Leo XIV urged the International Institute of Administrative Sciences to develop an ethical framework for AI and to ensure that the good of the human family is not sacrificed to private interests. He emphasized that public authorities should guide the humanization of digital technologies so they serve life and peace, warned that rapid AI advances could see humans becoming victims of their own inventions, and stressed that crucial decisions about human life must not be entrusted to machines.
