AMD to Launch Lower-Clocked Ryzen 9 7940HX and 7840HX Dragon Range Mobile CPUs
AMD is reportedly preparing to launch two new Dragon Range CPUs for high-end laptops, the Ryzen 9 7940HX and Ryzen 9 7840HX. These CPUs are expected to have slightly lower clock speeds compared to the existing models. The Ryzen 7045HX series combines desktop and mobile features, offering up to 16 Zen4 cores and improved multi-threading performance. While the flagship model, Ryzen 9 7945HX3D, has limited availability due to its high cost, the new SKUs aim to provide more affordable options for gamers. AMD's expansion in the mobile market includes the introduction of the Radeon RX7900M mobile GPU, while Intel is also preparing to release its updated 14th Gen Core-HX series.
