Ford Faces Recall Blitz: 616k Vehicles Hit Over Wiper, Driveshaft and Alarm Flaws
Ford is issuing recalls totaling 616,280 vehicles across three campaigns: 604,533 crossovers (2020–2022 Escape/Explorer and Lincoln Aviator/Corsair) for a windshield-wiper motor defect that can fail and reduce visibility; 11,431 2025–2026 F-250/F-350 trucks with a bad weld risking driveshaft separation; and 316 E-series vans (2026–2027) with a loose backup-alarm connector that may not sound when reversing. Ford initially dismissed the wiper issue in 2021, reopened the probe in 2025 after higher failure rates, and cites 1,374 warranty claims; parts may not be available until May, with dealers replacing affected components as needed.
