"Ceres Photobombs Galaxy M100 in Stunning Image"
The Virtual Telescope Project captured a stunning image of the spiral galaxy Messier 100 and the dwarf planet (1) Ceres together. Ceres, which was discovered in 1801 and is now classified as a dwarf planet, crossed the same spot where Messier 100 is located. The image was taken with the "Elena" robotic unit and Ceres was about 240 million km away from Earth while Messier 100 is 55 million light years away.
