Teens Charged in Fatal East St. Louis Family Shootings
A 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were arrested after seven members of the same East St. Louis family were shot, five fatally. The teens face multiple charges including first-degree murder, with an additional count for dismembering a body and other felonies. The arrests followed a police stop of a vehicle tied to a suspect; victims identified include five members of the May and Thompson families. The St. Clair County prosecutor’s office has authorized the charges and plans to pursue an adult transfer for the juvenile as appropriate.
