Doctor's cancer discovery inspires others to get screened
Kate Stroud, a mother of two from Ypsilanti, Michigan, shares her five-year journey with colon cancer to raise awareness and empower patients facing similar conditions. After undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, and a procedure to reverse an ostomy, Stroud chose to see a doctor practicing eastern medicine, who recommended herbal infusions and a diet that cut out processed foods, red meat, and sugar. Stroud has focused on the “three legs” of her well-being: mental, emotional, and physical. She continues to work with her team of doctors and advocates for patients to understand they have options and feel empowered to ask questions about their care.
