Virginia elementary intruder dies by self-inflicted gunshot; staffer wounded; lockdown enacted
A 19-year-old man, identified as Anthony I. Ignatadis-Isabelle, forced entry into Waynesboro’s Westwood Hills Elementary School and died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the library; a staff member was wounded but survived. Police responded within three minutes, the library was unoccupied, and all students and staff were accounted for. The district imposed a school lockdown, arranged reunification at Westminster Presbyterian Church, and investigators continue to probe the incident; the suspect was not a student and additional details remain under investigation.
