Uganda's Tooro Kingdom Crowns Journalist Amid Heir Dispute
Edward Rukidi Nyabongo, a former state broadcaster, was crowned the 13th king of Uganda's Tooro Kingdom on September 30 in Fort Portal. The succession followed the August death of King Oyo Nyimba at age 34. While the ruling Babiito clan selected Nyabongo, Queen Mother Best Kemigisa disputes the decision, claiming a will names an unpublicized son as the rightful heir.
