Miami-Dade Sheriff names five cleaning crew members killed in Amazon cargo plane crash
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office identified five men killed when an Amazon-branded Boeing 767 cargo plane overran a runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday. The victims were employees of Professional Ocean Service Corp., a cleaning contractor, who were in a van struck by the aircraft. Five others were injured, including the two pilots, who have since been released. The NTSB is investigating the crash, which occurred during the plane’s third flight of the day, while CNN highlights that Miami lacks an Engineered Materials Arresting System (EMAS) that could have slowed the aircraft.
