Scorching Heatwave Sweeps Across California, Puts Millions on Alert
The National Weather Service has issued an "Excessive Heat Watch" alert for the Bay Area and Central Coast, warning of temperatures reaching triple digits and potentially causing impacts to life and health. Inland Bay Area locations, as well as the Central Coast, can expect high temperatures ranging from the 90s to the mid 100s, with some areas reaching as high as 110 degrees. The heatwave is expected to last from Friday to late Sunday, with overnight lows remaining high and little relief from the heat. Other parts of California, including Sacramento and the Central Valley, will also experience soaring temperatures, while Death Valley could reach a scorching 130 degrees. The heatwave comes after the planet recently experienced its hottest day on record. The NWS advises residents to take precautions and stay hydrated during the extreme heat.
